History of Rap
Rap comes from the original African-American culture, especially
the tradition of the griots. From the Jamaican toasting, he
came around the end of the 1960s in African-American urban
ghettos (especially in New York). DJs who serve, in discos
and clubs plates, said in songs and proverbs and comments
made in an accessible youth slang. This they did increasingly
in rhyme to the rhythm of the music. These were mainly plates
of known functions musicians scratched back and spinned. In
the so-called backspin is supplied with two turntables, which
is located on the same plate, a loop, so the repetition of
a few bars produced.
The functions of the DJs were eventually more and more of
the so-called MCs (Master of Ceremony, mistakenly referred
to as Chief or Microphone Microphone checker or as a verb
"to move the crowd" interpreted) accepted. When
the rap deposit then became an integral part of the music
of DJs, and the lyrics have been longer and more substantial,
they began rapping stories on this path and to convey his
views and feelings expression. Today, the concept of outsiders,
established rappers, while MC has receded into the background.
The first rap recording is often King Tim (Personality Jock)
by the radio combo The Fatback Band mentioned, but also early
records of the Last Poets were an important foundation for
spoken rhymes. The first commercially successful piece of
hip-hop created Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five with
The Message (about the hard life on the street) or The Sugarhill
Gang with "Rapper's Delight (published in 1979, a party
pure text) in the early 1980s. Later established until now
known rappers like Run-DMC, LL Cool J (Ladies Love Cool James),
or the Beastie Boys this style outside of the ghetto.
In New York, established in the late 1970s, a trend in the
predominantly black ghetto, celebrate parties to self-demolition
of houses () called block parties, as they often were difficult
to access the clubs. These block parties rap has often been
used to inflame the crowd and himself and present.
Rap later included also always political and social issues,
as they were, for example, by Public Enemy always vociferously
raised awareness of their listeners. These groups took advantage
to the new style of music to spread their messages and to
denounce as such perceived ills. The rap makes it far more
text content to pack into one song than most of the vocals.
In addition, acquired Gang Starr, consisting of MC Guru and
DJ Premier, Erick Sermon of EPMD, Geto Boys with Willy D,
