Rock Music
Whether you are a new parent or a doctor, you know how much
babies like listening to music. It doesn’t matter if it’s
mommy singing a lullaby, or music from the television or the
radio- music can comfort and soothe even the fussiest baby.
Of course, there are traditional lullabies and nursery rhymes,
but babies love all kinds of music- even rock music, from
acts like U2, Green Day, and Coldplay.
Parents are often surprised when they are playing their favorite
rock music and they see their babies bopping along happily
to the sounds that they hear. Good music is good music, no
matter what genre it is, and musical tastes may be hereditary.
There are rock music lullabies that will allow you to listen
to your favorite music in ways that will make your baby coo
with delight.
These rock music collections take the music that we all know
and love, and turn it into soothing baby songs that will gradually
introduce your infant to songs like “With or Without You”,
“Hey Jude”, and “In My Place”. Most parents have an idea of
how they want to raise their kids, and some want to experiment.
They may be paying close attention to the “basics”, but no
one ever said that babies only like standard lullabies. When
you’re looking for good baby songs, you’d be shocked to know
that many of your favorite rock bands have allowed their tunes
to be turned into lullabies. Older bands like the Beach Boys
and the Beatles lend themselves well to baby music, and even
bands like Guns n’ Roses and Metallica can soothe a baby.
If you are a bit younger and you missed out on classic rock
music, you don’t have to worry. There are newer acts that
make great baby rock- the Cure, Radiohead, Bjork, and the
Pixies allow you to remain “cool” while keeping your baby
happy. The Ramones, the Rolling Stones, and the Smashing Pumpkins
also tend to make babies calmer.
No one ever said that once you become a parent you have to
give up your favorite rock music. There are a lot of songs
that babies seem to love, and playing music for your newborn
now can instill a love of song that will last a lifetime.
Next time your baby gets fussy, put on some rock for him or
her- and watch them “dance” and try to sing along.
